Please read carefully – this is a legal document

I, _____________________________________________ am applying to work as a volunteer for Plenty International. I understand that volunteer activities may include but are not limited to: traveling to and from other countries or other U.S. cities and towns, consuming food and living in accommodations available and provided in another country(ies), working in Plenty offices and on project sites, constructing and rehabilitating buildings, distributing food and supplies, or providing related assistance to Plenty project partners.

I hereby freely and voluntarily, without duress, execute this release under the following terms:

1. Waiver and Release. I, the Volunteer, release and forever discharge and hold harmless Plenty International and its respective administrators, directors, agents, officers, officials, volunteers and employees, other participants, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises on which Plenty activities take place (each considered one of the "RELEASEES" herein) from any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, which arise or may hereafter arise from my work with Plenty.

I understand and acknowledge that this Release discharges Plenty from any liability or claim that I, the Volunteer, may have against Plenty with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from my participation with Plenty, whether caused by my own actions or inactions, or the actions of others participating in the activities, the condition in which the activities take place, or the negligence of the RELEASEES listed above.

2. Insurance. I, the Volunteer, understand that, except as otherwise agreed to by Plenty in writing, Plenty does not carry or maintain health, medical or disability coverage for any volunteer, nor does it assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health, or disability insurance, in the event of injury, illness, death, or property damage.

3. Medical Treatment. I hereby release and forever discharge Plenty from any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise on account of any first aid, medical treatment, or other services rendered in connection with my work with Plenty.

4. Mold Exposure. I, the Volunteer, understand that I may be exposed to mold through my work with Plenty. Mold exposure for extended periods of time can cause illness or other bodily injury. I assume the risk and understand that I should protect myself by wearing appropriate equipment. I hereby release and forever discharge Plenty from any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise due to exposure to mold.

5. Assumption of the Risk. I recognize and understand that my time with Plenty will include activities that are inherently hazardous, including but not limited to construction, travel to and from project or work sites either domestic or international, consuming local foods and living in local accommodations. I further understand that I may be traveling to and from locations where there is a risk of terrorism, war, insurrection, criminal activity, inclement weather, or other circumstances that could threaten my health or safety. I acknowledge and understand the nature of the risks involved in working as a volunteer for Plenty International, including but not limited to illness, disease, bodily injury, death, loss of possessions, or civil unrest; and certify that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate as a Plenty volunteer in such activities. I further agree that if at any time I believe conditions, equipment or situation to which I am assigned to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further participation in these activities.

Furthermore I fully understand that I assume all responsibility for losses, costs, and damages I incur or I cause to others as a result of my participation as a Plenty International volunteer.

I hereby expressly and specifically assume the risk of injury or harm in these activities and RELEASE PLENTY INTERNATIONAL from all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages on my account for injury, illness, death, or property damage whether caused by my own actions or caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the "RELEASEES" or otherwise; and I further agree that if, despite this Release, I, anyone on my behalf, or anyone I have injured or who makes a claim against any of the RELEASEES, I will idemnify, save and hold harmless each of the RELEASEES from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage or cost which may incur as the result of such claim.

5. Photographic Release. I grant and convey unto Plenty all right, title, and interest in any and all photographic images and video or audio recordings made by Plenty during my work with Plenty, including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits derived from such photographs or recordings.

6. Other. I expressly agree that this Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the state of Tennessee, and that this Release shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee. I agree that in the event that any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the balance of this Release shall continue to be enforceable.

7. I have read this agreement, fully understand its terms, have signed it freely and without inducement or assurance of any nature and intend it to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
