At morning light the village begin to come to life,
as children leave their homes to fetch water and wood
and mothers prepare the day's tortillas over a warm
fire. Soon there is a bustle of activity, when the school
bell rings and dozens of smiling faces come running
to the center of the village to start their day. |

The T.E.A. Guesthouse
experience is a unique opportunity to see how people have
lived together for centuries, simple and pure. Surrounded
by the beautiful mountains and along the riverbanks,the
Maya continue, planting and harvesting, the cycles of a
traditional way of life.
Each guesthouse
is located in the center of a traditional village. Bunkbeds
with mattresses and all necessary blankets are provided
to make your stay as comfortable as possible. In addition,
showers and toilet facilities are provided. Accommodations
are simple and clean, built of local rainforest hardwoods
and covered with a traditional thatch roof.
Our guesthouses
are designed to give you and the villagers personal privacy
while allowing you to interact with the people and be a
part of everyday village life.
Meals and care
of the guesthouse are rotated amongst different families
in the village so that everyone can benefit from the income
it brings.
